Privacy Policy
How we collect, use and protect your personal information, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). Last updated: .
In short
- We only collect what we need to answer you, quote, invoice, deliver your order and issue your software licence.
- We never see or store your card details. Card and Instant EFT payments are handled on Payfast's secure page.
- We never sell your information, and only share it with the service providers who help us run the business.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time.
1. Who we are
This website is run by NF Blast Consult and Training (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2025/178170/07), Unit 74 The Glen, 38 Wagenaar Street, Edenglen, Edenvale, Gauteng, 1609, South Africa. We are the "responsible party" for your personal information under POPIA.
Information Officer: Nico Alberts, Director. Email nico@nfblastconsult.co.za or call +27 82 784 7033.
2. What we collect
- Contact and order details you give us on the contact form, the order / quote form or the software checkout: your name, company or mine, email address, phone number, country, VAT number (optional) and, for pocket books, a delivery address.
- Software licence details: the request code you paste from the program. It contains your computer's ID and the program version, so that the licence key works only on that computer.
- Payment confirmations from Payfast: the amount, date, payment reference and the name and email used. We do not receive your card number or banking login details.
- Training bookings: the names of course participants, if you give them to us, so that we can issue attendance records.
- Messages you send us by email, phone or the website.
Our website does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not build profiles of visitors. Like all websites, our hosting server keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages visited) for security and fault-finding.
3. Why we use it
- to reply to your enquiries and send quotes;
- to process payments, issue invoices and deliver orders and licence keys;
- to manage your licence, including computer transfers, renewal reminders and support;
- to arrange training courses and consulting work;
- to meet our legal duties, such as tax and accounting record keeping;
- to protect our website and programs against fraud and misuse.
We use your information because it is needed to carry out an order or agreement with you, to comply with the law, or for our legitimate interest in running the business. We will only send you marketing messages if you have agreed to receive them, and you can opt out at any time.
4. Payments
Online payments are processed by Payfast. When you pay by card or Instant EFT you are taken to Payfast's secure payment page, and your payment details are handled by Payfast under its own privacy policy and security standards. We only receive confirmation that the payment was successful.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We only share it with:
- service providers who help us run the business: our website host, our email provider, Payfast, courier companies (for pocket book deliveries) and our accountant;
- authorities, where the law requires us to.
These service providers may only use your information to provide their service to us, and must keep it confidential and secure. If any of them store information outside South Africa, we only use providers that give it a level of protection required by POPIA.
6. How we protect it
- The website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection.
- Order and licence records are stored in protected areas of our server that are not accessible from the internet.
- Access to your information is limited to the director of the company.
- Our programs do not send your blast designs or personal information to us.
7. How long we keep it
We keep sales, invoice and licence records for at least 5 years, as tax law requires. Enquiries that do not lead to an order are deleted when they are no longer needed. After that, information is deleted or anonymised.
8. Your rights
Under POPIA you have the right to:
- ask whether we hold personal information about you, and for a copy of it;
- ask us to correct or update it;
- ask us to delete it, unless we must keep it by law;
- object to us using it for marketing;
- complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa (inforegulator.org.za).
To use any of these rights, email nico@nfblastconsult.co.za. We will reply within 30 days.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated. This policy forms part of our Terms & Conditions.
